Arsenal face a major rebuilding task at the Emirates Stadium this summer after another disappointing campaign and the Gunners could be severely impacted by departures away from north London.

One of those widely linked with an exit is England international Jack Wilshere, who is yet to sign an extension with the Gunners and is likely to be available on a free transfer in just a few months time- leaving a big hole within the Arsenal squad.

Whilst Arsenal want their academy graduate to pen a new deal, Wilshere is reluctant to put pen to paper- and Arsenal Fever state the Gunners have a back-up plan.

According to the reports, Arsenal are eyeing a move for Lyon’s French international Nabil Fekir if Wilshere leaves the Gunners this summer and will look to reunite the 24-year-old with his former vice-captain, Alexandre Lacazette.

Fekir, a long-term target for Arsenal, boasts immense versatility as he can play in midfield or across the frontline, which appeals to the Gunners, but Lyon will likely demand a huge figure for the man who took their captain’s armband last summer.
