The agent of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has confirmed that Arsenal have registered their interest in the Italian international.
The 23 year old has been linked with a €40m (£35.6m) switch to the Emirates in recent weeks. When asked about the Gunners when interviewed by Radio Sportivo, Davide Torchia said that the London club had not made an approach, but suggested they liked the player:
He was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying:
“Daniele’s doing well, I’m happy for him. Arsenal? They didn’t launch any assaults for him. They expressed a liking for him, but we have respect for Juventus.”
Rugani has struggled for game time since being dropped from the first team by manager Max Allegri, after a 3-2 defeat to Sampdoria back in November.
The centre back did however return to the starting line up for the 7-0 thrashing of Sassuolo at the weekend, although he was substituted at half time.
The Italian has made 15 appearances for Juve this season, having scored one goal and provided one assist. He has four caps for Italy; the last of which came in the 1-1 draw against Macedonia back in October.
