Turkish champions reportedly lining up formal offer for Arsenal ace

|

Besiktas will make a loan offer for Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, according to Fotomac.

The Turkish publication reports that agent Ahmet Bulut is in the UK to hold talks with the Gunners on Besiktas’s behalf. The Super Lig side want to offer a six month loan deal, with an option to purchase the 27 year old at the end of the season.

It is believed that if Bulut receives a positive response from Arsenal, Besiktas president Fikret Orman and head of transfers Umut Guner will make the trip to London to finalise the deal.

Whether such an offer for Welbeck would be acceptable to Arsenal, it is doubtful. The Gunners look set to lose Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, and despite the club’s interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, no deal is said to be imminent.

Letting the England international leave on loan in such circumstances would not make much sense. It’s likely Bulut will be returning to Turkey with his offer from Besiktas swiftly rejected.
