Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is set to sign a new deal to stay at the Emirates, according to the Sun journalist Daniel Cutts.
A source told the tabloid that both the German international and his team mate Jack Wilshere will sign their contracts “soon” with Ozil said to be happy with his life in London.
Juventus have been heavily linked with Ozil in recent days, but speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference today, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed that the player won’t be departing the club before the end of the season.
Ozil’s current contract expires in the summer, and the German has allowed his deal to run down into the last six months without any agreement over an extension, but it seems the end of the saga could now be in sight.
The playmaker is currently sidelined with a knee injury and hasn’t played since the 2-2 draw against Chelsea at the start of the month.
