Martin removes any doubt about Brazilian speedster’s £35m move to Arsenal

|

Bordeaux president Stephane Martin has reiterated that the club will not be selling winger Malcom before the end of the transfer window.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian, but speaking to French newspaper Sud Ouest (translated by TalkSport), Martin was adamant the player won’t be leaving:

“There is no shadow of ambiguity, Malcom stays at Bordeaux.”

Malcom has been in excellent form for Bordeaux this season with eight goals and six assists in 25 appearances. The Gunners were reportedly lining up a bid of £35m for the 20 year old, but Martin denied they made a formal approach for the winger.

The Brazilian Under 23 international was likely being lined up as an alternative to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Arsenal failed to land the Borussia Dortmund forward.

Sky Sport News report that the 28 year old arrived in London today to finalise his £60m transfer to the Emirates, although it is believed Dortmund want to sign a replacement before the move is rubber stamped.
