German second division strugglers Kaiserslautern are interested in signing Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik on loan, according to Kicker.

The German publication reports that the centre back is being pursued to help Kaiserlautern drag themselves off the bottom of Bundesliga-2.

They are currently eight points adrift at the bottom of the table, and are keen to strengthen their squad before the close of the transfer window tomorrow night.

Bielik is currently playing with Arsenal’s Under 23 side following a loan spell at Championship side Birmingham City in the second half of last season. The Polish Under 19 international played ten times for the Midlands outfit, and helped the club stave off relegation.

Despite his efforts for Birmingham, it is unlikely that the 20 year old will make the first team at the Gunners, and the defender has not featured in a single match day squad for the senior side this campaign.

Bielik was signed by Arsenal from Legia Warsaw for £2m in January 2015 but he has made just two appearances during his two years at the club.
