Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has five offers to leave the Spanish club in the January transfer window, according to Diario Gol.

Arsenal tried to sign the Spanish U21 international before he joined Real last summer, and have also been credited with interest in making another move for the 21 year old in January.

Liverpool are however the primary candidates to sign Ceballos, Diario Gol reports. The Reds see the midfielder as an option if they lose Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, although the Spaniard does play a lot deeper than the Brazilian international.

The central midfield player could have joined Barcelona himself in the summer but signed for Real due to the promise of more first team football. That promise has been broken though and it is believed Ceballos held a ten minute meeting with Real president Florentino Perez to ask for an explanation.

Madrid’s manager Zinedine Zidane has started the 21 year old on just four occasions this season, and it is believed the midfielder was looking for reassurances about his future, or he may decide to leave the Bernabeu.
