Turkish club lining up January loan swoop for wantaway Arsenal ace

|

Fenerbahce are considering making a loan offer for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish publication reports that the Yellow Canaries were not planning to make a move for a forward in January but Tottenham are now considering recalling Vincent Janssen from a loan spell at the Super Lig side.

The Dutch international has only scored three goals during his six months in Turkey, but Spurs are said to be keen to strengthen their options in forward areas.

Giroud is therefore seen as a good alternative for Fenerbahce to reinforce their attack. The Frenchman’s agent has spoken out recently on the player departing to get more first team football, while the 31 year old told L’Equipe only a couple of weeks ago that he would consider leaving the Gunners on loan.

A departure is only likely to happen at the end of the transfer window next month as the France international is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury which will keep him out for three weeks.
