Mesut Ozil would rather join Manchester United over Barcelona if he leaves Arsenal next summer, reports the Daily Mail.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at the Emirates this summer and Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club are still negotiating a new deal to retain the German’s services.
Depending on what you read and believe, Ozil has been offered between £235,000 to £275,000-a-week to remain at Arsenal beyond next summer. However, it is thought that the German international has turned these offers down and is now eyeing a switch to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
It is understood that Ozil wants £300,000-a-week to stay at the Emirates and United have been strongly linked with him in the past few months.
Should Ozil decide to leave Arsenal for United then he will be reunited with his former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, who himself is planning an overhaul at Old Trafford.
Ozil will be able to discuss personal terms with interested clubs next month as a result of having only six months left to run on his existing deal at Arsenal.
