Valencia have denied that Real Madrid have been in contact regarding signing attacking midfielder Goncalo Guedes.
The Portuguese international has been a long term target for Arsenal, and has been recently linked with a move to the Emirates, but Real have also been tipped as a possible destination.
Speaking yesterday about Guedes’s situation, Valencia general manager Mateo Alemany was quoted by A Bola as saying:
“They [Real] have not told me anything.”
Guedes is currently on a season long loan at the La Liga club from Paris Saint-Germain, but there has been speculation that the 21 year old could be sent back to PSG and then sold in January. When asked about what the future holds for Guedes, Alemany was adamant that the player will remain at Valencia until the end of the season.
“Guedes has seven months of contract with Valencia and we are very happy with him. We’ll see what we can do [about signing him permanently]. At this moment there is nothing else besides his ceding in the summer.”
The Portuguese playmaker has been in exceptional form since joining Valencia. The left sided midfielder has scored three goals and provided five assists in 11 league games so far this campaign.
