Arsenal are interested in Trabzonspor attacking midfielder Yuzuf Yazici, according to the player’s agent.

Reports in the Turkish media over the past few months have linked Yazici and his team mate Abdulkadir Omur with transfers to the Emirates, but up until now it has been no more than mere speculation.

Speaking yesterday, Yazici’s agent Adem Cebeci confirmed that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had been keeping a close eye on the player, and has asked for scouting reports on the Turkish international. He was quoted by Ajansspor as saying:

“There is no official offer for the player, there are clubs that [Trabzonspor president] Erkut Sogut has seen. England’s leading clubs are watching, and Arsenal coach Wenger watched and got notes about Yusuf.”

So far this season for Trabzonspor, Yazici has played 13 Turkish Super Lig games, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He has also started two of Turkey’s last three internationals. He made his first start for the national side in a 2-2 draw against Finland in October, and he was then selected in the starting eleven for the 2-0 friendly defeat to Romania earlier this month.
