Arsenal reportedly lining up £30m swap deal in January

|

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen on swapping Alexis Sanchez for Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners boss is reportedly willing to sell the Chilean international for £30m, but would like the 28 year old to move abroad rather than to rivals Manchester City. Pep Guardiola is said to be keen to be reunited with Sanchez after working with him at Barcelona.

French newspaper Le Parisien however reported last month that Sanchez is being lined up by PSG as a replacement for Edinson Cavani, who has fallen out with star signing Neymar.

It seems Wenger is keener on this deal happening as it could see Draxler moving in the other direction. Arsenal have been linked with the German midfielder ever since he came through the academy at Schalke, and the Gunners are said to be still interested in signing the 24 year old.

The midfielder is still however very much part of PSG manager Unai Emery’s first team plans. Draxler scored one goal, and provided an assist for another, in the 5-0 win over Angers last weekend.
