Arsenal are now favourites to sign Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto after Juventus withdrew their interest in the Czech Republic international, according to Calciomercato.com.
Juve were reportedly keen on the 21 year old but the Italian website reports that the Serie A champions are not keen to invest a large sum of money to bring the central midfielder to Turin.
The news for the Gunners gets even better as it has emerged that AC Milan have also pulled out of the race for Jankto, effectively leaving Arsenal with a free run to sign the Czech.
The midfielder has been tracked by Arsene Wenger’s side for the best part of two years, with the first reports of the club’s interest coming back in March 2016. Since then, there have been consistent rumours that the Gunners have been keeping close tabs on the player, both during his loan spell at Ascoli, and his subsequent performances in the Udinese first team.
The player himself is said to be keen on a switch to London with his agent Beppe Riso confirming back in July that he “likes Arsenal.”
