AC Milan are considering Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere as a potential signing to strengthen their midfield before the end of the transfer window, according to SportItalia (via Calciomercato.com).

The Italian TV station believe that Wilshere is among three other names from the Premier League that the Rossoneri are weighing up bids for. Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye, Watford’s Etienne Capoue and Leicester City’s Nampalys Mendy are all on the club’s shortlist of potential recruits.

On Wednesday, Arsene Wenger said he was planning for Wilshere to stay at the club for the remainder of the season although he stopped short of saying that the 25 year old will not be sold before the end of August.

The England international has less than 12 months to run on his current contract but he is unlikely to be offered a new deal. The midfielder is currently recovering full fitness after the broken leg he sustained whilst out on loan at Bournemouth last season.
