Brazilian club Vitoria will be given 2% of the transfer fee for Arsenal’s defender Gabriel Paulista’s sale to La Liga side Valencia, according to Torcedores.com.

The centre back came through the academy at the Brazilian Serie A side, and they are obliged to be given a percentage of any transfer fee in line with FIFA rules because they helped develop the centre half as a youth player.

Reports have suggested that Valencia have agreed a £10m fee with Arsenal for Gabriel which would mean Vitoria will be given £200,000 from the deal. It is not a huge sum by any stretch of the imagination but it will take the Gunners’ loss on the player to £3.7m.

The 26 year old was signed from Villarreal for a reported £13.5m in January 2015, but he has not been able to establish himself as a regular first team player over the past two and a half seasons at the Emirates.
