Contrary to reports in the Daily Telegraph yesterday, Roma have not given up on signing winger Riyad Mahrez, according to France Football Magazine.

The Algerian , who has been linked with in recent months, has been a subject of a number of bids from the side but so far the have rejected the Italian’s club’s proposals.

Despite the setbacks, Football report that Roma have today made another bid of €38million or £34.6m, but this is still well short of Leicester’s asking price of £50m.

The Serie A team’s failure to capture the 2015/16 PFA Player’s Player of the Year will give Arsenal encouragement if they are still interested in Mahrez. The primary target has been Monaco’s but reports have suggested that manager Arsene Wenger has given up on signing the Frenchman. Whether they will turn their attentions back to Mahrez, it remains to be seen.
