Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants a basic wage of £120,000 a week for his next contract, according to the Daily Star.

The 23 year old has a year left on his current deal at the Emirates and while Arsenal are believed to have offered to extend the midfielder’s contract, the offer was reportedly nowhere near Oxlade-Chamberlain’s expectations.

Even with the speculation surrounding his future, the England international has continued to be selected by manager Arsene Wenger, with the winger having started at wing back in the Community Shield last weekend.

Wenger has praised Oxlade-Chamberlain’s qualities but he seems determined not to sell to one of Arsenal’s rivals. The winger has reportedly been the subject of a £35m bid from Chelsea over the past week, and the Star say the midfielder is keen on making the switch.

At the moment though, it seems Oxlade-Chamberlain is in a bit of a stand-off with the club, and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will offer an improved deal, like they have with Ozil and Sanchez, to match his salary demands.
