Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Aymen Barkok has revealed that he has not been contacted by Arsenal and expects to remain at the German club next season.

The 19 year old was reportedly the subject of a bid from the Gunners earlier this summer but speaking in an interview with German publication Allgemeine Zeitung, Barkok said he’s honoured to be linked with the Premier League club, but there’s no substance to the rumour:

“To be honest, I learned from the press. I have not received a request yet. But, of course, this honours me.”

When asked whether he will definitely be playing for Frankfurt next season, he replied:

“Yes, definitely.”

Barkok only made his debut for the Bundesliga club back in November. It was a spectacular debut as well as he came on as a second half substitute and scored the winning goal in the last minute of the 2-1 win over Werder Bremen.

The midfielder went on to feature for Germany at the European Under 19 Championships this summer, playing three times in the group stages of the competition.
