Arsenal have made an offer for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Aymen Barkok, according to Spox.

The German website say that the bid is in the high “single digit” million range between €6m and €9m, and that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking the 19 year old for the past year.

It is believed that Arsenal in fact made their first formal bid for Barkok last season but the offer was rejected by Frankfurt at the time. The midfielder is currently away with Germany at the European Under 19 Championships in Georgia.

The bid from the Gunners was reportedly made before Germany’s 3-0 win over Bulgaria yesterday evening. Barkok started the match but was substituted after 71 minutes.

Barkok made his senior debut for Frankfurt after coming on as a substitute against Werder Bremen in a Bundesliga match back in November. He went on to make 19 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
