With Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas stating that the French club have ended their interest in Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, it seemed that the Frenchman’s future may have been resolved. Reports from Turkey however suggest that another club has entered the running for the 30 year old.
According to Turkish newspaper Milliyet, Super Lig champions Beskitas would like to sign the French international, and are planning a player exchange deal to land the forward.
The report states the Turkish side will attempt to use Cenk Tosun when they talk to the Gunners about Giroud. Tosun had an excellent season for Besiktas last campaign, having scored 24 goals in all competitions.
The Turkish international is 26 years of age, four years younger than Giroud, but it must be said that last season was the first campaign where he has managed to score over 20 goals.
How much money Besiktas will put on the table, along with Tosun, it is not known, but after Arsene Wenger has already stated he wants to keep Giroud, it may not matter as the Gunners could turn down any deal.
