Arsenal must fend off Milan and a host of clubs to keep key defender

|

AC Milan are the latest club interested in signing Arsenal centre back Laurent Koscielny this summer, according to Telefoot.

The French TV station report that in addition to the Rossoneri, Marseille, Manchester City and a number of Chinese Super League teams are also interested in the French international.

Milan have recently been taken over by a Chinese consortium and are looking to improve their squad after a disappointing sixth place finish in Serie A last season. Their defence was one of their weakest areas, with 45 goals conceded last season, and it seems manager Vincenzo Montella has targeted Koscielny as a potential solution.

The 31 year old only signed a new deal in January to remain at the Emirates until 2020, and it seems Arsene Wenger’s decision to sign a new contract, has strengthened his resolve to stay at the club. With the Frenchman an integral first team player, it is very unlikely he will be sold this summer despite the interest being shown in him.
