Arsenal have entered the race for Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez according to both the Mirror and the Daily Mail.

The Spaniard is poised to leave the La Liga side this summer after just one season, having scored 16 goals in all competitions. When he signed from Barcelona last summer on a free transfer, the 21 year old’s contract had a release clause of just €6million.

The low fee has attracted a whole host of Premier League and European clubs. Spanish newspaper Sport say that among them are Tottenham, Stoke City, Southampton and Newcastle while Spanish sides Sevilla, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid have also been linked.

Madrid based newspaper AS reported last week that Atletico are the front runners for the player after Ramirez’s agent Gines Carvajal was seen at the Vicente Calderon when the La Liga side faced Athletic Bilbao on 21st May. A move to Atletico could only take place however if the Court of Arbitration for Sport lift the club’s transfer ban. If the ban remains, Arsenal and other clubs could look to snap up the forward.
