The 19-year-old has started 11 Bundesliga 2 games in his breakthrough season for the German club, scoring two goals along the way, and is quickly becoming an integral member of the Hannes Wolf’s side.
Ozcan joined Stuttgart in 2013 and signed a four-year deal in 2015 before making his debut for the second-tier German side in August last year.
Despite Ozcan’s off-field antics, his agent, Baris Yukselsen, has confirmed the Gunners are keeping close tabs on the promising midfielder:
Quoted in Football.London, Yukselsen said:
“Many top clubs are interested at Berkay.
“Arsenal has Berkay on its list, but at the moment he is focusing on Stuttgart’s resurgence.”
Ozcan could be the young midfielder that Arsenal scout Jurgen Kost confirmed last week they were interested in signing:
“I have been scouting a Turkish kid in Germany. I watched him 2-3 weeks ago, he plays in central midfield.
“I won’t give his name yet but he is very talented and we are considering signing him.”
Arsenal have and continue to pluck young, raw talent from around Europe and Ozcan could be the latest to be added to the list this summer.
