Arsenal are expected to seal a deal for Eibar centre-back Florian Lejeune this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The 25-year-old has been a regular for Eibar this season, making 25 starts in all competitions for the La Liga club so far.
Marca (via the Daily Mirror) claim the Gunners have been impressed by the Frenchman’s displays this season and are reportedly ready to trigger his release clause with an £8.7million bid for the former Manchester City man, who only left for Eibar last summer.
Despite signing Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia for over £30million last summer, Arsene Wenger’s side continue to show frailty in the defence. The Frenchman does have the likes of Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding as other options in the back-line, but he could look to bolster his defensive options further for next season and reportedly sees Lejeune as a good addition to the squad this summer.
