Arsenal are among a number of clubs keeping tabs on Villarreal winger Samuel Castillejo, according to reports in Italy.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for the La Liga club this season, scoring three goals and creating four in all competitions, and is believed to have attracted interest from some big clubs around Europe as a result.
Italian publication Il Mattino say the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are all tracking Castillejo, but it is understood that Napoli are the frontrunners for the Spaniard’s signature this summer.
Arsenal have been linked with several wingers/forwards in the past couple of months or so as Alexis Sanchez’s future remains unclear, and it seems Castillejo is the latest name to pop up as a potential replacement for the Chile international.
Arsene Wenger has recently claimed that he believes Sanchez will sign a new deal, but it looks like the club putting together a contingency plan should the striker leave this summer.
