Arsenal will offer Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus €13m (£11m) a year to join the Gunners if they make an approach for the German international in the summer, according to BILD (paywall).

The German newspaper report that Arsenal would need to offer €60million, or £51million, if they want to sign the 27 year old from the Bundesliga side. Reus is already on €9m (£7.66m) a year, or roughly £150,000 a week, at Dortmund so a sizeable wage offer would be needed.

The German international’s contract currently runs until 2019, and speculation from the Sun newspaper is that the forward has been lined up as a replacement for either Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez if they opt to leave the Emirates.

When asked about these latest developments however, Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc dismissed the claims:

“I won’t waste my time with half-baked stuff. It’s not known to me that Marco wants to leave us.”

Reus has had a good season for Dortmund despite Thomas Tuchel’s side not hitting top form so far this campaign. He has scored five goals and six assists in eight matches after missing the start of the season with a groin injury.
