Arsenal are looking at bringing in youth coach Jose “Pep” Segura as the head of youth development, according to the Independent.

The Spaniard was previously Academy Director at between 2009 and 2012 before he returned to to become Barca’s head of professional phase at the club’s famed La Masia youth academy (pictured).

Segura currently overseas the development of in Barcelona B and the Juvenil A, the two teams below the first team. He has been targeted by a number of Premier League clubs in the past, including , and the Gunners will certainly need to fight off the competition if they want to sign him up.

The youth coach’s first spell in came under at Liverpool when he was appointed to oversee the restructuring of the Reds’ youth academy at Kirkby.

Segura then left Liverpool after the appointment of as manager when Alex Inglethorpe replaced him as Academy Director. The Spaniard has also managed a senior side, back in 2008-09 season, before his time in England.
