In the past couple of months or so, all you see is his name popping up concerning whether or not he will sign a new deal to remain at Arsenal. For all that don’t know, the Chile international has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Emirates, and with no signs of the striker penning a new deal yet, those linked with the club are starting to worry. Add to that his recent pitch tantrums in recent games and you may have big problem on your hands.
With his contract winding down, Sanchez has drawn attention from several top European clubs which include Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, not to mention the fat-cat Chinese clubs who are willing to offer him astronomical wages. On wages, it’s been reported that Sanchez wants between £250,000-£300,000-a-week to remain at Arsenal, while the club have supposedly only tabled £180,000-a-week to the forward.
This contract saga appears it could go the distance, but with only 18 months left on Sanchez’s deal, Arsenal cannot afford to not have a potential replacement in reserve, especially if the Chilean hasn’t signed an extension by the end of the season. Sanchez, to some, is indispensable and irreplaceable to the club, but many great players have come and gone and he is no exception.
