Arsenal could risk losing another hot prospect in January – Gedion Zelalem.
According to The Sun, Borussia Dortmund are preparing an offer for the 19-year-old midfielder and a path into the first-team at the German club.
The USA Under-23 international has been left frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities under Arsene Wenger and spent last season on loan at Rangers where he featured 21 times for the Scottish club.
Since joining the Gunners back in 2014, Zelalem has only managed to make a total of four appearances for the club, two of which came this season in the EFL Cup competition in the games against Nottingham Forest and Reading.
Zelalem’s contract is set to expire in six months and with no sign of a new deal on the table, perhaps Wenger is ready to let the German-born midfielder find first-team football elsewhere this month.
Viewed as a bright prospect, Arsenal fans may not be too happy to see yet another young talent leave the club having seen Serge Gnabry depart for Wolfsburg for a mere £5 million last summer.
