He’s currently on loan at Bournemouth for the season after basically being told by Wenger over the summer that he won’t feature as much as the midfielder would want too.
The England midfielder has started regularly for Eddie Howe’s side and despite the player expressing his own uncertainty over his future at Arsenal, Wenger has stated he still has one when he returns from Bournemouth.
Would I offer him a new deal? I’m not too sure. Although he has ability, he just hasn’t lived up to his potential and become a bit stale at Arsenal. On the other hand, when on song, he can be a very influential player for the Gunners. However, we do have a lot of midfield options already at the club and I wouldn’t be too sad if he was eventually sold.
