Arsene Wenger is yet to decide which right-back he wants to let go during the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.

Mathieu Debuchy or Carl Jenkinson will be allowed to leave the club next month, but not both, as the Gunners boss wants to keep sufficient cover for first-choice Hector Bellerin in the position.

While Debuchy has potential interest from French clubs Marseille and former club Lille, Jenkinson currently looks to be more likely to depart on another loan deal.

At the moment West Ham look favourites to secure the 24-year-old for a third loan spell. However, Hull City, Swansea and Aston Villa are also in the running for the player.

Neither Hull nor Swansea seem to be particularly attractive options for the full-back which leaves the Hammers and Villa as the two most likely candidates. Slaven Bilic’s side have struggled for a recognised full back all season with the injury to Sam Byram, and the poor form of Alvaro Arbeloa.

Their switch to a back three could however hamper Jenkinson’s game time with Michail Antonio playing in the wing back position. A more regular spot in Steve Bruce’s side in the Championship may then become a better option to get first team action after a long term injury.
