Boost for Arsenal as playmaker’s future still undecided

|

Arsenal have been given fresh hope in their pursuit of Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler, according to Le Parisien.

The French newspaper have been talking to a representative of the German international about the 23-year-old’s potential move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to Le Parisien, the source said that the player is weighing up moves to either PSG or Arsenal, and will make his decision in the coming days:

‘Nothing is done. Julian is still hesitating between PSG and Arsenal. For the moment, he is thinking. A decision will be made in the coming days. One thing is certain, he has played his last match for Wolfsburg.’

Draxler has had a troubled season at Wolfsburg after stating before the start of the campaign that he wanted to leave the German club. He has had to face the hostility of his own fans after failing to perform, and was booed when coming on a substitute against Hertha Berlin a few weeks ago.

The midfielder did however return to the starting lineup for the 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend and also played last night in the 2-1 victory against Borussia Monchengladbach. He provided an assist in both matches, his first two of the season. Now with the start of the winter break in Germany however, he looks to have played his last game for the club.
