Bayern Munich and Germany forward Thomas Muller has said he is looking forward to the duel with fellow German Mesut Ozil.

The pair will face each other in the Champions League last 16 tie at the start of next year. Arsenal have met the Bundesliga side in three out of the last four years in the European competition and Muller told ESPN he is looking forward to making acquaintances in London once again:

‘Undoubtedly, Arsenal are a tough opponent as two top European teams meet. But hopefully Bayern will come out on top. Above all, though, I’m looking forward to the duel with Mesut Ozil.’

The 27-year-old has struggled for goalscoring form this campaign despite being a regular under coach Carlo Ancelotti. In 21 matches in all competitions so far this season, Muller has scored four goals, with his first coming in the league against Wolfsburg in the 5-0 demolition last weekend at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern have struggled away from home in the Champions League in recent seasons, and the Gunners will be hoping to stay in the tie in the first leg in Germany in order to make home advantage count in the second game at the Emirates Stadium in March.
