Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says he is delighted that the Bundesliga club were paired with Arsenal once again in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Gunners faced Bayern in the group stages last season, and Rummenigge told Sky Sports that although Arsene Wenger is well known for his attacking football, they felt they faced different tactics the last time they played at the Allianz Arena:

‘They are known for playing attacking and attractive football, which is the style of Arsene Wenger. I can well remember that they played very defensively against us in the past. We have to make sure that we score one or two goals so we can head to London with a bit more calm.’

Arsenal came out 2-0 winners the last time they faced Bayern, and drew 1-1 in the same fixture during the last 16 tie in the 2014 Champions League.

It has usually been the home fixtures that have been the Gunners undoing in matches between the pair in recent seasons. Wenger and his side will be hoping that with the home game being the second leg this time, they can get a positive result in Germany once again in order to set up a chance of progressing to the quarter finals this year.
