Arsene Wenger will have no fitness concerns over Mesut Ozil ahead of Saturday’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

While the club wait to assess the fitness of Alexis Sanchez following his return from South America, midfielder Ozil was spared from international duty while Germany drew 0-0 with Italy in Milan on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old is in the best form of his Gunners career scoring five goals in his last six club appearances.

Without a title win since he left Real Madrid Ozil has taken confidence from this season’s performances and knows the value of taking full points from title rivals.

A win on Sunday would put Arsenal ten points ahead of Jose Mourinho’s side and build on the early season win over Chelsea that set out the side’s title ambitions.

“[We need to] win every game, get as many points as possible and also be successful against the big teams, like we were against Chelsea,” the German internationalist told Arsenal Player.

“We have the quality to beat any team and that’s what we want to show this season.

“You can see that the big clubs at the top have quality, and that we have to win every game because of how tight it is at the top.

“Our goal has to be to look at ourselves. If we win the games, we’ll be at the top at the end.”

Ozil has scored seven times this season in 17 top team appearances.
