Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow after learning Alexis Sanchez will be out of action for SIX weeks.

The 27-year-old suffered a ‘low-grade muscular injury’ whilst training with Chile on international duty.

The striker is expected to have a scan on the injury to determine the extent of the damage, and is having treatment in Santiago.

It was hoped the injury was not as serious as first feared, and that Sanchez would be fit to face Manchester United next weekend.

However, it’s believed that Sanchez will be side-lined until just before the busy Christmas fixture period.

The Chilean will be unavailable for these fixtures below:

Paris-Saint Germain (h) – 23rd November (Champions League)

Bournemouth (h) – 27th November

Southampton (h) – 30th November

West Ham (a) – 3rd December

Basel (a) – 6th December (Champions League)

Stoke (h) – 10th December

Everton (a) – 13th December

Sanchez could also miss game against Manchester City a week before Christmas, if it is indeed a six week lay-off.

Well, it is November after all.
