Arsenal have taken ex-Reading goalkeeper Dan Lincoln on trial, reports The Daily Star.

The 21-year-old was released by Reading in summer 2015 following a loan spell at non-league club Nuneaton.

He spent a further five months at Hayes & Yeading before moving to Basingstoke in January. The shot-stopper then moved to Bognor Regis for most the season thereafter.

With Braintree Town in desperate need of a keeper in October, Lincoln was signed on a dual-registration by the club for just one game, where he starred in a 3-2 win over fellow relegation candidates Woking before returning to Bognor Regis.

But Arsenal have now taken the opportunity to take a closer look at the former Reading man.

Arsenal have already managed to sign two promising goalkeepers in the past few months – Joao Virginia, who signed his first professional contract for the Gunners and, last month, acquired Alex Crean from Celtic at the end of September.
