Arsenal are scouting Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, according to reports in Italy.
The Ivory Coast international has been in impressive form for Atalanta so far this season and netted the club’s winner against Roma last Sunday.
The 19-year-old, who turns 20 on December 19th, has been ever present for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side this season, scoring five goals and creating two in 11 Serie A appearances, and has been labelled the ‘new Yaya Toure’.
Although Kessie is primarily a defensive midfielder, the Ivorian can also play as an emergency centre-back of centre-midfielder
TransferMarketWeb claim the Gunners are keeping a close eye on the young midfielder.
However, a horde of clubs are also understood to be monitoring Kessie’s progress, with Schalke, Southampton, Juventus, Napoli, Fiorentina and Monaco all on the list.
Kessie’s contract at Atalanta runs until June 2021, but the Serie A club could find it difficult to keep hold of the promising midfielder after attracting considerable interest from around Europe.
