It’s becoming clearer as the weeks go by this season that Arsenal need a new striker.
In recent weeks we’ve seen Alexis Sanchez deployed into that role as well Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez making a handful of appearances but each of these have their drawbacks.
Firstly, with Sanchez, the Chilean is not an out and out striker. Yes, he has performed well when he’s been asked to play there as all world-class players would but he’s even better when he’s playing in the spaces between the opposition defence and midfield and out wide.
Then, with Perez and Giroud, neither have really shown exactly what they can do this season and if Arsenal want to win the league this year, they need a striker that does it week in week out.
That, then, means Arsene Wenger should be looking for a new man up top and it could come in the guise of one of these three…
