Mesut Ozil was a real creative force last season and it’s a real shock that he hasn’t been announced as part of the 30-man shortlist for the award. For much of last season he looked like he was going to smash the assists record for one season in the Premier League before just falling short but that shouldn’t have counted against him. He’s world class on his day and will just have to show it once again for next year.
