When Petr Cech signed for Arsenal from rivals Chelsea many were surprised that the Blues had let him go.
A top class ‘keeper that holds the Premier League clean sheet record, Cech would get into most sides in the world so it seemed as though Arsene Wenger had pulled off a real coup.
Indeed, that is how it has panned out. The man from the Czech Republic has been a mainstay in the Gunners goal ever since joining but, in turning 35 next year, attention may be turning to who is going to replace him.
Goalkeepers typically have longer careers that outfield players but even so Cech may only have a couple of years left at the top past this season and so Arsenal need to be thinking about who they want their next number one to be.
