As reported by The Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger has claimed that the manager that succeeds him in the dugout at Arsenal will find a club in a much stronger position than the one it was in when he arrived in 1996.

The Frenchman is celebrating his 20th anniversary at the club this season and believes, because of his work over the past two decades, whoever comes in after him will be in charge of a strong club.

Wenger said: “I like to think that the club today is at a different level to when I arrived and as well, when I leave, that I leave a good team with a strong financial resources and good structures at the club.”

Since 1996, Arsene Wenger has won three Premier League titles, including one during the Invincibles season, and six FA Cup titles as well as being in charge for the move to the Emirates Stadium from Highbury.

His current contract runs out at the end of the season but there is no inclination yet as to what Wenger will do beyond that time with Arsenal sitting in third in the Premier League table on a five-game winning streak.
