Granit Xhaka has been quoted in the Evening Standard reflecting on his move to Arsenal in the Summer as the right decision as the Gunners have a “lot of class.”

The holding midfielder joined came to London in the Summer from Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach for £33.8 million and has already found the net this season too.

Speaking to Swiss TV Xhaka said: “[I]quickly realised that Arsenal are a much bigger club than Basel [his first team] or Monchengladbach.”

Meanwhile on a Twitter Q&A he also told supporters: “I’m really enjoying it here. Everything goes as planned, and things are really well planned here, regardless of if we are playing home or away. You can see it’s a club with a lot of class and that shows with everything. I’m very proud to play for such a club, to be a Gunner. That makes me doubly proud to have joined this team. It’s the perfect path.”

The Swiss international has competed with Francis Coquelin to start in the deep lying midfield positions alongside the Spaniard Santi Cazorla and whilst he has been playing more recently with Coquelin out injured, the Frenchman is expected to return to training in the near future.

Arsenal play Swansea in the first game after the international break looking to extend a five game winning streak whilst the Swans will have Bob Bradley in charge of his first game since Francesco Guidolin’s sacking.
