New Arsenal signing Lucas Perez has received a glowing report from fellow Gunner addition Shkodran Mustafi ahead of the pair potentially making their debuts for the North London club this weekend.
Arsene Wenger’s men were in the market for a new attacker this summer and ended up landing the Spaniard from Deportivo La Coruna.
Perez netted 17 La Liga goals last season and his pace and penetration are being lauded as attributes that will make the Emirates Stadium side a more dangerous team.
Mustafi has also been added to the Arsenal squad this summer to provide defensive cover and the pair know each other well from facing off in Spain.
The Germany international defender has talked up his fellow new recruit and believes that Perez has all the attributes to be a real success in English football.
“He is uncomfortable to play against. He’s a good striker – he has everything a striker needs,” Mustafi told the club’s official website.
“He’s someone you can play well with. He works a lot for the team as well and he creates chances. He’s in the right place at the right time, as he showed last year in La Liga. I think he’s going to help the team a lot.”
The pair are being tipped to make their Arsenal debuts this weekend against Southampton but Perez may well start on the bench for the Gunners.
