Arsenal striker target Alexandre Lacazette is set to reject the chance to extend his contract at Lyon and instead will push for an exit from the Ligue 1 outfit in the January transfer window, ClubCall state.

The France international has impressed for his boyhood club over the last number of seasons, scoring at will and standing out with his exemplary pace and movement off the ball.

Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas stated earlier this summer that the French club rejected an offer from Arsenal for Lacazette, with the sprightly forward staying put despite almost daily transfer speculation over his future.

Arsenal moved on and have signed Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna as an alternative, with the Spaniard boasting similar attributes to the Frenchman and potentially set to make his Gunners debut this weekend.

However, should Lacazette become available in the new year, Wenger may well be tempted to return for a player that has been linked with the North London club over a number of transfer windows.
