Arsenal are one of a host of clubs to have inquired over the availability of Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, according to the midfielder’s agent.
The Ivory Coast international has been one of the most influential central midfielders in the English game over recent years and a critical component of the success achieved at the Etihad Stadium.
However, Pep Guardiola’s arrival at the Manchester club has seen the all-action playmaker sent to the sidelines, with the Catalan coach preferring other options in the boiler room.
Toure is being linked with a move away from the title-chasing side but will need to remain at City until the January window now.
The African star’s agent Dimitri Seluk has stated that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in his client, but stated to Sky Sports that a switch to a Premier League rival would be “impossible”.
“Yaya in January can sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs abroad,” Seluk said.
“He will have many offers from clubs. China and America of course they want him but we will have a lot of offers from England and Europe.”
Just how much truth is in Seluk’s claims remain to be seen, as Arsenal are loaded with options in the heart of their midfield and would be highly unlikely to be interested in another player in the position after signing Granit Xhaka this summer.
