Striker worried about future, Arsenal could capitalise

|

Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has looked for assurances from boss Zinedine Zidane ahead of the new season and could be open to a move to Arsenal if he is not going to be first choice number nine in the Spanish capital in 2016-17, according to El Confidencial.

The Spain international is rated as one of the most respected centre forwards in European football and has starred for Juventus over recent seasons.

Madrid activated a buyback clause in his deal at the Turin giants, with Morata returning to his boyhood club this summer.

Despite Los Blancos resigning the prolific poacher, talk in the press has suggested that the Santiago Bernabeu outfit could well sell the striker on for a profit.

Arsenal are in the market for a new striker to provide competition for Olivier Giroud and have continually been linked with a move for Morata.

With Karim Benzema also in consideration at Madrid, the Gunners could well capitalise on Morata’s reluctance to sit on the bench in the Spanish capital.
