Former Arsenal playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup has rejected a proposal from the Gunners to rejoin the club from Besiktas, according to Milliyet.

The gifted attacking midfielder was on the North London club’s books for four years after signing as a youth player from AZ Alkmaar but was not given an opportunity in Arsene Wenger’s first team.

Ozyakup has since gone on to become a star back in his homeland and has been a prominent player for Besiktas since signing from Arsenal in 2012.

The 23-year-old starred for Turkey at Euro 2016 and played an integral part in the Istanbul-based club becoming Super Lig champions last season.

The latest report suggests that Ozyakup has rejected approaches from Arsenal, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund this summer and has instead decided to remain with Bestikas for another 12 months.

The 23-times capped Turkey international has also been linked with moves to West Ham United and Manchester United this summer but looks set to stay in his homeland.
