Arsenal are in the hunt to sign prodigious Charlton Athletic youngster Ademola Lookman but have Liverpool as their main competition, according to The Mirror.
The 18-year-old forward has made an impression since breaking into the first-team frame at the Valley and starred for England under-19’s over the course of the summer.
Lookman is being tipped as a future fully fledged international and could well be a shrewd acquisition should the Gunners win the race for his signature.
Other Premier League clubs such as Tottenham and Southampton are also believed to be interested in the winger, who was named as a substitute in Charlton’s first game of the new season.
Arsenal have good links with their fellow London outfit having bought Carl Jenkinson from Charlton and will hope that the draw of being one of English football’s biggest clubs will convince Lookman to opt for a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
