Arsenal have competition in their reported attempts to sign German whizzkid Julian Draxler, with The Independent claiming that Everton have made an audacious attempt to land the Wolfsburg star.
The former Schalke playmaker has caused a scramble for his services after admitting that he is keen to leave Wolfsburg after a solitary season on the Bundesliga club’s books.
Draxler has long been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger’s men are believed to be one of the clubs pushing hardest for the German winger this summer.
However, Everton may well have taken the lead in attempts to sign him, with the latest report suggesting that the Toffees are serious about their interest in the star and have started negotiations with Wolfsburg.
Other media sources have stated that the Bundesliga side are resigned to losing the Euro 2016 star but will hold out for a bumper fee of £50 million.
